Introducing Apung Sumengkar: member of the INS Indonesia Board

 

Apung currently is the Managing Partner of Daya Qarsa, a boutique consulting firm focuses on helping clients to do holistic business transformation. Apung has more than 15 years of experience working in South East Asia, Japan and Europe.

Prior to Daya Qarsa, Apung worked for several leading international companies (McKinsey, Deloitte, PZ Cussons, Unilever, and Toyota) leading the implementation of robust strategic management, efficient operation management, reliable project management and effective brand management in local, regional and global level.

To widen his business perspective and gain more international exposure, Apung took International MBA program at Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University ~ one of the most prestigious business school in The Netherlands and Top 10 Business School in Europe according to Financial Times. During his study, Apung was elected as the President of the MBA Student Association which enhanced his leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills in a very diverse and international environment.

Apung focus is to assist CxO level executives (Board of Directors) in leading SOEs and multinational companies on:

  • Corporate & strategy development, leading large-scale transformation projects related with 5 years strategic plan, business unit strategy, new business development and market entry strategy,
  • Sales, marketing and commercial development, managing projects related with development of marketing strategy, new brand value proposition, sales / distribution channel optimization, and pack price architecture
  • Digital engagement, delivering projects related with enterprise wide digital proposition, business process digitization and agile ways of working

Besides working as Professional, Apung also active as :

  1. Head of Alumni Association for CEDS (Centre of Entrepreneurship Development & Studies) Univ. Indonesia,
  2. Indonesia Alumni Chapter Leader for RSM Erasmus University, and
  3. Head of Madaniah Foundation, non-profit organization providing education from Elementary School to Senior High School level in Sukabumi, West Java.
